Let’s Answer Some Questions

AKA, Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

When do I need to start the wedding invitation process?

We recommend contacting 6-9 months before your wedding date to begin invitation design. We would love to start conversations earlier so that your spot is reserved on our design schedule. When booking earlier than 6 months, we will set a future date for start of design.

Our timeline from start of design to shipping is 10-12 weeks depending on the complexity of the printing processes.

We aim to ship your invitations suites to you at approximately 14 weeks from your wedding date, giving a couple of weeks leeway for assembly before mailing.

Should I send Save the Dates? If so, when?

Save the Dates should be sent 6-9 months before the wedding. We recommend leaning toward 9 months for destination weddings. We qualify a wedding as “destination” when it is international or when 50% of the guests are flying.

The design timeline for Save the Dates is 6-8 weeks. We recommend reaching out to us 8-12 months before the wedding.

I’m planning a destination wedding. Does that change my timeline?

For destination weddings, we recommend utilizing Save the Dates to give guests as much notice as possible. Invitations can then be sent in the 8-12 week window.

If you do not want to send Save the Dates, we will set up a custom timeline for you.

When do I mail invitations?

Invitations should be mailed 6-12 weeks before the wedding. We recommend mailing at about 8 weeks. Timelines are a bit more flexible when combining invitations with save the date cards.

When I book with you, do I pay up front?

All invitation clients pay a 50% non-refundable retainer at booking. The final updated balance is due before shipping.

I’m not sure of my guest count yet. When do I have to set a number for invitations?

You will give us an estimated guest count for your proposal. The final number is not due until proof approvals and we go to print.

Will I get to see my invitations before they’re printed? How do revisions work?

Yes! All proofs are digital and can be viewed in your designated client portal. Custom clients get unlimited revisions. For most clients, we work in 3 rounds of proofs to get your designs just right!
